Shot on 4x5

4x5 film photography is a form of large format photography in which an image is captured onto a sheet of film that is, quite literally, 4 inches by 5 inches in length and height. During my first two semesters at ArtCenter College of Design, shooting on 4x5 rail cameras were treated as a core, fundamental skill for all students in the department. The process of shooting, developing, and printing images in this format is one that requires time and precision; and I quickly became in love with it. The results yield beautiful black and white image with fine shadow and highlight detail proving a classic, vintage look to the image.

The following photographs are varying images shot 4x5 black and white film.
